Phases of Care
1. Relief Care (1-2 weeks):
This phase of care is focused on getting you out of pain!
Think of this phase as having an old rusty hole in the side of your car. You can put a piece of duct tape over the rusty hole, and relieve the problem for a short period of time. However, this will not fix the problem!
This phase of care relieves the pain. However, without proper correction to posture, muscular imbalances, body alignment, and body mechanics, the pain will most likely return.
2. Corrective Care (1-2 months):
This phase of care is aimed at correcting the underlying problem that is causing your pain.
Think of this phase as having that same rusty old hole in your car. Correcting the area would involve welding a new piece of metal over the hole, sanding it down, and repainting the area. This would correct the problem!
This phase of care works to correct posture, muscle imbalances, improper body mechanics, and return proper motion to the body and spine. This phase of care focuses to correct the underlying problem, and keep the pain from returning.
3. Wellness Care (Patient Determines Length):
This phase of care is entirely up to the patient.
This phase of care can be described as washing and waxing your car.
In a nutshell this phase is basically "healthy living." Keeping your body functioning properly can lead to a lifetime of health! Many people suffer from headaches, back pain, neck pain, fatigue, and generally being stiff, achy, and sore. Many of these problems are caused by the stresses of everyday life. Wellness patients are in search of reducing stress, sleeping better, and having a healthier lifestyle. This phase of care takes into account everything that causes stress, and then reduces it.
The care will be focused on proper nutrition, exercise, stretching techniques, breathing techniques, and restoring range of motion to improve your health and restore happiness to your life.
